Fanart: Leo
I'm not entirely sure what's up with these rapid-fire drawing uploads. I just can't seem to stop! (As if it's a bad thing...)

This drawing had me scared, actually; most of the markers were about to die, and I can't afford to replace them just yet. Anyway, I really enjoy drawing Bella; she's really sexy, but not ridiculously difficult the way Sirius is. As always, full view.

Fire signs like Leo tend to like attention; they love to be both in charge and fawned over, and if they don't get the attention they feel they deserve, they can get a little sulky. They tend to be ambitious, strong-willed, independent, idealistic and confident. They aren't very complicated people: they know what they want and chase after it with enthusiasm. And, like all fire signs, they tend to be quick-tempered and blunt.

The colour for Leo is gold, as is the metal; the armband she's wearing is a double lion's eye design. I was reluctant to put rubies on it, which is July's birthstone, because I didn't' want to make is too Gryffindory, but I gave in (actually, it makes me a little ashamed of Rowling, making Harry a July birthday Leo...) Keeping with the floral spirit of art nouveau, the flower associated is the sunflower.

Cancer/Barty Jr.
Virgo/Regulus
Libra/Narcissa

Any ideas for who to use for Taurus, Scorpio and Gemini would be deeply appreciated; thus far Sirius, James, Remus, Snape, and Lily are all taken.

Okay, here's bit of geekiness: if the "handwriting" provided in the books is considered official, there's a good chance that Regulus was left-handed. I promise, this isn't me being completely obsessed, so hear me out. (Which reminds me, I know that the American versions have the fancy type for the handwriting, but do other editions? I'd love to know...)

I was copying his handwriting for the Virgo drawing, and was having a ridiculously hard time at it. This was partially because I couldn't figure out the correct shape of the "o." Because I had to make stuff up for the others, I wrote the "o" for Leo with a brush pen, and realized that it looked backwards from Regulus'. See, the shape implies that he wrote the "o" clockwise, and trying out some of the other letters, he had to have started from the right. While not impossible, for someone who's right-handed, it's somewhat awkward. I did a small interview, and found out that the people I know who are right-handed start from the left, while left-handed people write from the right.

Anyway, I was just finding the whole right versus left-handed writing fascinating. It was simply triggered by how much difficulty I was having with Regulus' handwriting.

You already have a Capricorn, as that's Snape's birthday (according to Rowling). Well, he *is* stubborn to a fault, methodical and rather single-minded when persuing an ambition. Sounds like a Sea-Goat to me!

Bleh--she's so random at announcing birthdays! Thanks for that though; good thing I didn't start the others yet @.@

It's funny you use Regulus for Virgo since Regulus is the chief star in Leo! I do like it though.

The exact date I had put him on in a WIP I was doing is the same as Leo Tolstoy's birthday, though! It amused me. And anyway, the characterization I like for Regulus is far more a Virgo.
