Schadenfreude
I'm such a bitch. Because I'm only posting this to gloat about my own superiority.

Every day in philosophy we get a two-question, extra credit quiz. Today, it was on Heraclitus. The question was "True or False: Heraclitus said that you can never step in the same river twice." I asked if it was a trick question, and Prof Higgens (yes, that's actually his name) said no, it wasn't. So I put false.

When we went over them a few moments later, he said the answer was false: Plato said that Heraclitus said that you can never step in the same river twice. Heraclitus said that you can step in the same river twice, but the water will never be the same, that it's always changing.

Anyway, I glanced around because there were some protests and there was this girl that was just glaring at him. She was just one of those people that I can tell, just from the way they dress and do their hair and makeup, that I wouldn't like her. She was a total barbie. And she spent a good 20 minutes to half an hour just glaring in disgust. And I was laughing inside. Because I had done the reading assignment--both of them--and it expressly said in the book that Plato had misquoted.

I think it's a satisfaction that people don't do well because they didn't done the reading before class--or didn't read carefully enough. Either way, it's that little streak of malicious pleasure I get from the failure of others.
