Writer's Block: A real eye opener
Which one book should everyone read, and why?

LOL!! So, so many books out there. Can a person choose just one? Although, I've decided to answer this, since I'm going back and reading the book again. I won't say it's my favourite, since that's a hard claim to make about any book, but it's certainly up there.

Actually, I'd say Angela's Ashes, by Frank McCourt. One, it's stylistically impressive; he pulls off the most amazing run-on sentences without it sounding wrong, gives direct quotes without using "proper" dialogue format, and generally gives a unique first-person, present-tense format.

But more than that the story itself is both tragic and comedic at the same time. It's a memoir of his own life in the slums of Ireland, and the way he writes gives the impression that he remembers it like it was yesterday. I'm putting up a video of him reading a small part of it.
