So, so torn...
I'm having a bit of a love/hate relationship with a drawing of Regulus lately. I keep telling myself to just go ahead and finish it, and then we'll see, but dammit, it's hard. Part of it is the layers in Photoshop, as it looks completely different with the "background"--which I haven't decided what it's going to be yet--on and off:

Because when the background is dark, you can't see his hair quite right, and when it's light it just looks funny. I know that I plan to put something back there, but still... And now he seems like he's looking a little yellow to me, and I noticed that, once again, I gave him an open mouth. Not to mention my attempts at drawing robes.

So the million dollar question: Should I continue, or just start all over again?

It doesn't look like it should be scrapped. The fact that you can't see his hair perfectly in the dark version doesn't even have to be a minus, if the sort of blurred effect adds to the atmosphere (which I think it does, actually). And the expression fits, so don't feel obliged to change it just because.

Yeah, and I'm so totally in love with his hand. (Which you can't see that well on these small pictures, but...I gave him manicured nails!) Lately I've been worried that I've been pushing myself too had, and thus not getting much done at all.

I guess I'll see this thing through to the end.

That's pretty cool! Yeah, once you've managed to draw a hand well, it's kind of sad to get rid of it. And nothing at all is wrong with perfectionism. :D
