So here's how it goes
So I've been seriously considering starting my first book. And actually, I was considering doing it on Medeus. There might be a few changes in timeline from the story I'm working on now, but still....

I could try posting the first part, but there's always the possibility of changes later on. But the point would be the attempt to write publishing-quality material. And it would be done under my real name.

We'll see how this works out.

In the meantime, I've been doing a lot of designing and will start sewing for convention costumes (a couple friends and myself are doing a group of original characters). I suppose you could say I'm the kind of person who's a jack of all trades, and a master of none. But hopefully that and getting a job won't slow down my updating too much. When I consider how much time I had during school to work, it can't be too bad, right?

Good luck on your book. I think it would be nice if you wrote about Medeus, actually. There's a lot of stuff dealing with the more famous figures already, so having the story focus on him could bring some fresher air!

Wow, how cool that you can sew well enough for costumes. I'm kind of in awe. xD

Well, I already started, but right now it sort of feels like a jumbled mess. I'm wondering whether I should skip the beginning of the story for now, or change the format or something. I dunno. Sometimes I don't know how I start long projects.

I'm more good at taking patterns and faking the rest for costumes, but I'm not so good at the technical stuff. They usually look good when they're on someone, but it someone were to examine one of them, it would look awful messy. I made this costume, as Charlotte from Vampire Hunter D, and I took it apart and started again on parts more times than I can count--and it ended up as the best I ever made, but there were parts that were still a wreck.

I guess I sound like one of those annoying, overly-critical people. But if I didn't think like that, I would want to get better, would I?

A jumbled mess? I feel your pain. I have character sketches and plot points for original fics right now and that's that. But I think you'll figure it out...or maybe start writing down what you know for sure? It makes for a nice overview.

Well, since I can't see any of the messy parts, let me just say this costume looks absolutely amazing. I'm really impressed now.

And exactly! People who aren't critical of themselves can hardly get anywhere.
